A relaxed community gathering designed to bring people together through food and friendly chat!

Calder Road

Service Description

This free event is part of The Great Get Together, a nationwide celebration inspired by Jo Cox’s belief that we have more in common than that which divides us. It’s a chance for neighbours, friends and newcomers to connect in a warm, welcoming space. At the heart of the event is a fuddle - a Northern tradition where everyone brings a dish to share. It began in local mills and factories, where workers would “huddle” together over homemade food. Bring along any cold snacks, bakes or savoury dishes you’d usually make at home and enjoy friendly company and relaxed conversation. You can also try a free 15‑minute hot‑room movement session or listen to a short introduction to the benefits of Japanese Jikiden Reiki, with tasters available. There is absolutely no pressure to take part in the tasters either - you’re welcome to simply eat, chat and enjoy the atmosphere. Or, perhaps you just want to set foot in the infrared room and experience what the heat feels like, and not do any movement! 🎶 Expect warm vibes and a friendly space where everyone feels welcome. 🤲 A chance to meet neighbours, share culture through food and celebrate what we have in common. ✅ RSVP / By Using Book Now - simple and easy - 2 minutes to complete 🥗 Food Sharing Guidelines To help keep everyone safe and included, please follow these quick guidelines when bringing food: • Label your dish Include the name of the dish and a full list of ingredients. Please highlight allergens such as nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, sesame, fish/shellfish. • Avoid cross‑contamination Use clean utensils and surfaces. Keep allergen‑free dishes in separate containers. • Be honest about ingredients If you’re unsure, write “may contain traces of…” so people with allergies can make safe choices. • Keep food safe and stay hygienic Chill cold foods until the event. Wash hands before preparing food and don’t cook if you’re unwell.
