Where is the nearest public transport?
Mirfield Train Station is a short 5 minute walk away and there is a bus stop on Calder Road just nearby, the 261 is the local bus route.
Which class is best for first time yogis?
All of our classes welcome beginners!
If you prefer a gentler pace, we recommend Om Restore, which is a more restorative yin type practice of passive stretching and meditation. Our Ember 26&2 and Ember Fusion are more challenging and involved, however, the sequence is practiced in the same order every time with detailed instruction, making it more than suitable for complete beginners who want to be energised.
How should I prepare for my first class?
-
Book your class online
-
For your first practice, a specialist hot yoga Mat and Towel will be provided and laundered. In future you have the option to add on a mat and towel service to your booking for £2.50 per session to save you the hassle of bringing and cleaning your own equipment. Or you may wish to bring your own mat and towel, or hopefully invest in your own if you enjoy the practice and are going to come regularly, which can be purchased via the Ember & Om online shop or in person, at the same rate as direct with our partners.
-
Wear light, breathable clothing
-
Arrive 5-10 minutes early to class, do not be late please
-
Avoid eating right before class
-
Bring a water bottle and add electrolytes to your water
-
...and most importantly: take it easy to start and enjoy the experience!
Why the heat and how hot will it get?!
For Ember 26&2 you can expect your core temperature to rise to 40 degrees via healthier infrared heating bars. The heat helps to warm up muscles allowing for deeper stretches. It also supports detoxification, enhances circulation and penetrates the skin to stimulate healing and recovery.

Om Restore classes are practiced in a gentle 32 degree heat with aids stretching and muscle release.
What’s your cancellation policy?
As a small, independent studio, every booking matters to us - and to our community. When a session is cancelled at short notice, it’s often too late for someone else to take that spot. To help us keep things fair and accessible for everyone, we kindly ask that:

-
Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will be refunded or rescheduled at no charge.
-
Cancellations within 24 hours of your session are non-refundable, as we’re unlikely to fill the space on short notice.
-
If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to gift your spot to a friend - just let us know their name ahead of time.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support. This policy helps us keep our studio thriving and ensures that as many people as possible can enjoy what we offer.
What membership options do you offer?
Whilst we don't offer monthly memberships at this stage we do have flexible options to suit your flow and also offer a reward for regular practice with a small discount. The 12 class pass offers most value and is something worth investing in once you have tried the practice a few times. Pass packs remain valid for 12 months from purchase, with single classes valid for within 3 months of purchase.

What if I’m running late?
Please text Sarah, the instructor, on 07481 156671 to advise and when you arrive if the class has passed the start time. The instructor will let you in asap at a suitable point so there is minimal disruption to the rest of the group.
What facilities are there at Royds Mill?
There is a hot drinks machine available to all members and a sink to refill bottles, together with a seated area for you to relax and take a moment, or catch up with other yogis should you wish to after the session. Separate toilet on the right as you come in the front entrance, with one larger ground floor bathroom with shower available for use on a first come first served basis (to the left of the entrance). Many people prefer to change and come ready to class if they can and similarly shower at home afterwards.
