What is Hot Yoga?
It is a style of Hatha Yoga that consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, also referred to as original hot yoga or 26&2. Practiced in the same sequence every time, this makes the series become familiar more quickly and allows ease of tracking with progress.

Standard classes are 60 or 90 minutes and practiced in a heated room set at around 40 degrees celcius with 40% humidity. The practice targets various muscle groups, promoting strength, flexibility and balance. The heat helps to warm up muscles allowing for deeper stretches.

The practice also improves posture, increases stamina and enhances overall body awareness.
Why the Heat?
One of the reasons is that the heat and humidity replicates the climate conditions of India where traditional yoga originated. But moreover the heated environment is crucial to achieving the powerful health benefits associated with the 26&2 practice.

Healthier Heat:
At Ember & Om we use infrared technology, which unlike conventional heating systems, that circulate air (and with it, germs), warms the body directly, creating a consistent temperature and cleaner atmosphere in the studio.

Multiple Benefits
